ART PARIS ART FAIR, THE SPRINGTIME EVENT FOR MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY ART

A MORE INTERNATIONAL SELECTION

In 2013, Art Paris Art Fair is confirming its identity as the art event that focuses on the art scenes the East (Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Asia). With 74 newcomers to the fair, the 2013 selection brings profound changes and a notable expansion of its international dimension. This year, 20 countries are represented (compared to 16 in 2012) and a total of 43% of participants are from abroad.

RUSSIA, GUEST OF HONOUR

In line with its policy of exploring the art scenes of the East, Art Paris Art Fair has invited Russia as guest of honour. A central space in the fair will be dedicated to some 11 galleries from a number of cities in Russia including, Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Rostov on Don and Vladivostok while some 20 European galleries will show work by Russian artists. With around 90 artists represented, Art Paris Art Fair will be an opportunity to discover or rediscover Russian art from the 1930s to the most contemporary production.

PROMISES : A NEW SECTION FOR YOUNG GALLERIES

This year Art Paris Art Fair is launching a new section entitled “Promises” reserved for galleries that have been established for less than five years and who have never participated in the fair. Twelve galleries are taking part in this new initiative which aims to provide an opportunity to discover new talents.

ARTDESIGN : A PLATFORM EXPLORING THE LINKS BETWEEN ART & DESIGN

The Artdesign platform is exploring the links and cross-over between design and contemporary art. Nine cutting-edge galleries have been selected to present one-of -a-kind, exclusive pieces made by contemporary talents.

ART BOOKS LIBRAIRIE ARTCURIAL: A NEW SPACE FOR ART AND ARTISTS’ BOOK

in cooperation with both the art and coffee table books section of French National Union of Publishers (SNE) and Artcurial art bookshop. This section includes some 30 publishers. For the duration of the fair, artists, authors and art historians will meet the public and sign their books.

SPRINGTIME IN PARIS

A series of talks and a VIP programme for collectors entitled “Springtime in Paris” will focus on the best of contemporary art and contribute to highlight the role of Paris as one of Europe’s leading capitals for art.
